Introduction
ABC is non-profit credit, debt and certified bankruptcy counseling. We also offer financial management classes at low or no cost to assist consumers with credit and debt issues. Our classes can be customized for groups and organizations. We promote financial literacy and provide our clients with the options necessary to effectively deal with their problems.
Debt Counseling
Is debt consolidation right for you? It’s not right for everyone and can actually damage your credit rating for a long time. ABC offers counseling to help you deal with your creditors and re-establish your credit faster.
Credit Counseling
ABC provides counseling to assist consumers in understanding their credit reports, their rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. By analyzing your credit reports, we can determine whether you can avoid bankruptcy or not.
Certified Bankruptcy Counseling**
Is bankruptcy right for you? As certified bankruptcy counselors, ABC can assist you at looking at all of your options so that you can determine which will work best for you. Ironically, bankruptcy can actually help you re-establish credit faster, but it is something to not jump into without looking at all of your options.
Foreclosure Counseling
Are you facing foreclosure? Bankruptcy may be necessary to avoid tax issues.
Do you want to avoid foreclosure? We can assist you in staying in your home and can help you determine what works best for you.
Settlements
Settlements can save you money, but may result in your owing taxes on the savings. Be aware that companies that offer these services and credit restoration services cannot do anything that you can’t do on your own except charge you a lot of money. Your credit can be damaged for a long time, as well.
Pre- and Post-Bankruptcy Filing Classes
ABC is certified to provide both credit counseling and debtor education classes, and approved to issue certificates required by the new Bankruptcy Code (2005).**
